    This place in the UK has lots of rubber and some cables. Keep in mind that the freight has to go thru customs and will take a week....

    A coil has a ground bolt to chassis and two wires. One wire is 12v all the time with the key on. The other wire goes to the ignition points....

    What did you do with your XS today?

    My bike came without keys. I took it to a locksmith and he picked the lock and made a key.

    All good points, Thanks. I did look through the carburetor and got everything moving correctly. I found the problem was the carb synchronization....

    I usually work on car engines, and on a car I would have it bored out and buy an oversize piston. Maybe they don't do that with bikes?

    Idle RPM climbs at stoplight.

    I have a 1978 XS400E all original. The problem is that when the engine is hot, it will not idle down unless i use the brake. I can be cruising...

    I suspect stuck valves. It happened to me once with a lawn mower. I broke the camshaft.
