I grew up as my dad's constant passenger on his 1988 H-D Classic, with the promise from him that I could have a dirt bike when I turned 10. On my 10th birthday (1995) he followed through and bought me a 1980 Yamaha Trail 80 which I rode until my knees touched my ears when I sat on it. I was too busy to logically replace the 80, so gave up having my own motorcycle until recently. This summer I took the MSF basic rider course and just a week ago I purchased my first on-road motorcycle, a 1980 XS40
I am a former roller derby skater who, after repeated injury, has transitioned into reffing the sport I love so very much.
