Well I've been away for a while and it looks like it will be a bit longer till i'm back in full swing working on my bike. I thought I i'd have a quick look at the site because I haven't been here for a while and what do I find? The T shirts are ready to order!!:yikes: Looks like I got back...

First time going from Vancouver to Banff. Suggestions??

Damn! I just missed this post. You have probably already left. If not plan to stop at Sorrento just before Salmon Arm. There is a motorcycle museum there called Dreamcycle. We stopped by a couple of weeks ago and it was really good. An old board track racer, Goldstar, several really old...

    Tell-On-Yourself Thread

Mmmm. Just out of highschool. My very first bike. My dad sold it to me for a dollar with the stipulation that I had to get it running myself. He handed me the keys, service manual and told me have at it. So I took it all apart, cleaned and checked everything and got it running. Got my...

switching standars turn signal, oil indicator, nutral light to tiny led's

Ha! I just noticed you are from Kamloops. Will be going there in a couple of weeks to drop off the daughter at TRU. If you are looking for small (1cm Dia.) lamps go to Princess Auto. I picked up 3 for my bike last spring (in Kamloops). They are led and have the resisters built in. Go...

switching standars turn signal, oil indicator, nutral light to tiny led's

I did a little (lot) of research on LEDs as I would like to do the same thing. It all depends on if you are using a LED "lamp" or just the single LED like you would buy from Radio Shack. The single LED (looking like a Tic Tac with two parallel metal terminals) will burn out almost instanty...

    CANADA D-EH !

Actually the Gorden Lightfoot remark was a little tongue in cheek. I'm not a big folk music fan but I did but his album just for that song. Sorry for getting the name wrong. I grew up in a small town in B.C. with only one radio station. They apperantly had a "don't offend anyone" policy and...

A few questions about top end rebuild

Are you sure you dropped it in the engine or are you just missing it? I remember that I had a hard time getting mine off of the head having been torqued in place for all those years. Have a second look. maybe it is still on the head.

A few questions about top end rebuild

Just rebuilding my motor. Sorry no good news. Washers under acorn nuts are copper. Magnet will not work. At the bottom of the timing chain tunnel is the crankshaft. There is a windage tray under the crank so the washer will not drop to the bottom. The oil should keep it (hopfully) from moving...
