Stripped Spark Plug Hole

The "sleeves" are so much better than Helicoil and other such products that it's not a contest.Like one of the other guys said, the tang will always present a risk of having a piece of hard steel in the chamber. with the inserts, you simply tap the hole to accept the threads of the insert. I used anti-seize on the outside threads, inserted an old spark plug, and screwed it in. I taped a vacuum hose to the area around the hole to whisk away the scrap. The serrations at the top lock the insert in place, and the spark plug will not strip as easily,as the insert is much harder than the aluminum head material, In my opinion, the silicon on the insert would tend to insulate[electrically and thermally]the plug and head contact area. Maybe I'm looking for problems that don't exist, but I do know that you have to have a good ground for a strong spark to take place. lha
