What did you do with your XS today?

worked on my custom seat pan today. About to get it where I want it. Got my peanut tank lined with Red Koat....progress is slow, but it's coming along.

I cut up some pieces of metal for my seat base. Right now I am practicing welds before I make the final pieces.

Thought I'd take advantage of the brief warm up and take the bike for a spin around the block..... but not before the kickstand sunk in the soft dirt, fell over and snapped my clutch lever.

tracker passed the annual MOT
and the little Gilera did too :)

peeps keep offering to buy and I won't part with it

pushing the Gilera back (no registration) and a guy nearly crashed into a parked car rubber necking :D

Test fitted new silencers :)

After taking apart the whole front end and checking and greasing the steering head bearings, I've put on my drag bars, bar end mirrors, new grips, and teeny little turn signals.

I'm still hung up on my rear suspension -- I think I need at least one more thrust washer like the one in the picture to get the arm to swing freely when torqued to spec. Can anyone help?

Cheers Bill

You have options for washers:

- Your local dealer can still order them, part #90201-222F4-00 or 90201-224L4-00 are still available. They are different thickness, but the diagram I looked at didn't specify what.

- Make your own. I'd suggest hardened steel.

Make sure to keep the swing arm centered in the frame by having the same thickness of washers on either side of the pivot.

Lou I was kinda thinking along the same lines this am,is this winter ever going to end and what in the world will I do when it Spring or summer finaly gets here? What this summer be like this year hot .cool and rainy I don't know but all I can do is think about what I need to do or want to do on my bike.IM SICK OF WINTER!:banghead:

It has been cold but we all need to remember it is winter after all:laugh: We have been spoiled by above average temps for so long now that when we get a normal winter we all start whining about it:wink2: If it is still like this in may then start bitching:D

Amen Chris!
Ordered my fork seals, oil, and gaiters yesterday. New grips and mirrors should be here soon as well for the drag bars. Looking forward to getting my arms out a little bit more, stock bars had me feeling like i had my arms in my lap being 6'3" and all...
Still cant find a single carrier with maxim caliper seals so im just gunna take everything apart, clean it good, and hope to god that the seals are good enough to last.
Also just scored a free 1989 kawasaki ninja 600r in need of tlc so ill have something to wrench on this summer while i rip around on the maxim

thielb, gotta be some bikes out there that used the same calipers and seals like Honda or Kawasaki. We had our first snow last Thursday here in the desert side of Washington state, 6 or so inches of dry powder, but gonna be all gone when it warms up Tuesday...Spring is just around the corner (not sure what corner)..Good ridin is comin...:thumbsup:Spad
