My new chain came with a clip style master link but for safety i would rater have a rivet style. But it seems impossible to find a non O-ring 530 rivet master links. My question is would it be ok to use a 530 O-ring rivet master link with a non O-ring 530 chain?

A 530 o-ring chain will be wider than a non o-ring. Also, if you've never done it before it is easy to peen rivets too much (or not enough) and make them too tight which can crack the link or rivet. You could use the o-rings on the master link but that seems mickey-mouse to me as the rest of the chain will not have them.

I would not worry about issues with a clip type link, especially on the 400. I have a clip type link on my xs400 and my 600 sportbike track bike which has much more power, speed and takes more abuse.

That is just my opinion.

The clip link is fine for safety on a small bike, but if you insist on a rivet style that is fine. Most manufacturers offer a clip and river style master link for every chain they sell; you might have to contact them, however. The only exception would be some no-name brand of course.
