I joined this forum last year when picked up my first bike, it was in rough shape and after finding out how hard it was to find parts Iost interest in the rebuild.
Two months ago I picked up my second XS360, now I have a running bike and parts donor!
Work that I've done, upgraded charging system to solid state, Pamco electronic ignition, rebuilt front forks. Bike runs awsome except for high idle after warm up, next project is the fuel system

Fuel system project;
Tank had a delaminated liner I literally pulled it out by hand. Inside of tank had light surface rust so I chose to use white vinegar to clean it, 48 hrs later poured out and left about a quart and added a short piece of chainlink and my wife's pie crust chain beads (Amazon has replacement beads) tank came out spotless! Neutralized with hot water baking soda and Dawn. I counter acted the flash rust with OSPHO inside of tank is perfect!. I put a sock full of desiccant crystals in the tank and taped it up on hold for parts

Carburetor rebuild, so after searching the forum the number one cause for high idle after warm up is broken idle screw. Yep 2ea. Broken "F" ing tips the worst possible case scenario!! You cannot push the tips out like you can on the 400 carbs. I cross my fingers and go to the parts donor these carbs are in rough shape unscrew and this is what I find

As for the other carbs you can get a set of micro drills ad clear out the tips. Just step the bits so that you have a tapper. Use the good carbs to get the hole size. I did this with a xs360 carb body a while back but still have not used it on a bike. It should work but I would only use it if I had to.

Yes! Two intact idle screws!! Funny how such little things can make you boiling mad! At least I have parts to work with. Time to tear down 2 sets of carburetor's to make one serviceable set. The happy mechanics smile is back on my face!

Cool. :thumbsup:
What'd you buy for the charging system?
It'd be good to have positive feedback for aftermarket electronics. Pretty hit-or-miss.
