Hey guys I have a 1981 XS400 Special II I had the wiring harness off and now I am confused on the Ignition coil connectors. On the harness side one has a grey wire and one with a red/white wire and the other connector has an orange wire and one with a red/white one. My coils both have Orange and Red/White Do i need to make sure these get hooked up correctly, does it matter which cylinder i plug it in to ?

In which case it would not turn or stop soon after turning?
I was attaching my front turn signals when I noticed the right condenser really hot. Oozing hot. Engine was off.
However, I have had my bike running the way it is plugged in now and both pistons were firing off fine. I'll try to take some photos to see if you can tell me if there is anything obviously wrong and I'll update my post.

Having them swapped will still allow the motor to turn over, but it will backfire as you try to start it. It's one of those things where you know exactly what you did wrong when it happens :)
