Need some advice, I have my cyclinder head tore down and on the base of it. I have what look like 2 dowel pins. The one is secure (left front side) other one is on the (right rear side) the one on the right is loose, but it looks more so like a location dowel so you fit the middle section of the head on correctly. My questions are; do those have to be replaced, the manual says too... I asked a friend and he said you should as well if they are disturbed. Second question if they do have to be replaced where might I find them, i looked around a little last night and was only able to find replacements for the middle section of the jug where the valve cover bolts on the top and you have your cam and etc. I think that is everything, will post pictures, first one is of LF side.. Second is of RR side. Appreciate the input.

If the pins aren't brent or crushed up any they should be fine. But you should replace the flat o-ring that is around the one that is in the case.

When you say the one on the right is loose, how loose is it? If it wobbles about an 1/8 of an inch I might be a little worried but if "loose" means it can be slipped out with just fingers but no real noticeable play then I would not have a problem reusing something like that.

I have heard of people taking apart engines and found a dowel like that plane missing and one of those times it was on a bike with very low miles so the chance it had been opened up since it left the factory was slim.

The bigger pin is the oil supply for the top end too right? Cant remember if all the pins have O-rings, but if you buy a gasket kit everything ahould be supplied for the bottom end. Some top end bits as well as the clutch pushrod sealare some of the only things youll have to buy separate.
