Maximum tire size answered

yea i was expecting a small change in speedo.

Recreateme: i had already cut my fender back to the second bolt before getting new tires, so i dont know... i think it depends on the tire and how much you weigh and how new/old the shocks are?

im only 155lbs full and soaking wet

On my maxim I have 130/90-16 rear and 100/90-19 front. It doesn't look like my chain guard is notched and it fits but the clearance is roughly 1/16 of an inch.

With the fatter tires you will notice that the handling will not be as good as the stock setup. I run a 130/90-16 with the stock 90/90-18 on the front on my 80 and it don't seem to handle tight turns as slow speed as well as my 79 with stock tires (110/90-18 rear 90/90-18 front) A fat tire may look cooler but wont perform better, more mass for the engine to move = less performance.
How would you think a 3.50x16 tire would perform on the rear? The 16" rim is so limiting for choices.
