Well it’s been a while since I’ve shown up here, I recall xs400.com was pretty young back then. Last time was for my FUBAR Bobber build 8 years ago!. I hope that thread has been useful for someone along the way.
Anyways, I don’t have an XS400 at the moment, but I did pick up a 1980 Yamaha QT50 moped. - 2 of them actually. ( a friend and I have great plans of brewery hopping next summer)

here’s some pictures and I will update as I go along. Missed the xs400 community

the yellow one is mine and runs but both need some parts and TLC

I have owned five yamaha sh50 razz mopeds in the last 20 years. I even bought a new one in 2001. I have a 1989 now that I have a high compression head, performance exhaust and de-restricted ignition and motor ports. Will do 37mph on a flat and 43mph down a hill. I used to drive them all over the place. Going to work, getting food at store or just having fun riding around the lakes. One summer I put 10K miles on a pair of them. I don't ride the one I have now much as it takes too long going anywhere far and with four xs400's still on the road they get me there much quicker. With all the mods it has, it only gets about the same fuel mileage as the 400's do :laugh2:

I have an old silver Puch Maxi sitting in a basement. Its the 2hp version so its reaalllllly slow. Its all there too in decent shape. Always wanted to put a chamber on it lol
