I’ve recently rewired my xs250 to the diagram below.

Can anyone see any reason why I’m not receiving charge to the battery?

also other than the 3 white wires going to the reg/rec does this look correct? What does the black/red tracer wire do?

thanks

How the regulator is wired depends on the year/model of regulator. There are older mechanical regulators (big black bump) and newer electronic ones (smaller silver boxes).

Either way that picture is wrong.
The black(Blk/red) wire from the field coil would go to either +12V or ground depending on regulator type.

Both regulators get a brown +12V, ground wire, and the green wire to field coil.

Thanks for the reply. I’m fairly new to the wiring side of things. I bought a new combined reg/rec mosfet type (see pic below).

so the wires from the field coil on my bike are brown and green. These are currently plugged straight into the reg/rec and that’s it.

It sounds like I need to take the brown to 12v?

Just looked at the original wiring diagram. Your right the reg/rec gets a brown 12v. This is live after ignition.
