Hi, I have an 82 xs400 and I have no spark on either side and no power to either coil. I understand it could be the tci or the pickup coil. I don’t know how to test any of these and if there’s anything else I need to check/test and how to test them

Should at least have power to the coils.
If there's no power at the coils I wouldn't jump to it being the TCI or pickup coils.

Check fuses. Check across the fuse holders, not the fuses. The stock fuses and holders like to corrode so the fuse can be good but won't conduct to the holders.

I don’t think I have a fuse box to be honest I looked where there should be one and no fuse box just some wires that are butt spliced and they match the wires that would be attached to the fuses. Sorry about posting multiple threads. Just have a lot of questions

Is there power at those wires where there should be?
Sounds like you've got your hands full with this one.

not sure, I should because the red and white wire has power at the kill switch and going through the kill switch and if i'm correct it shouldn't if there was no power going through the wires at the fuse box or lack there of

Problem solved. It turned out to just be my kill switch module not working anymore. Don’t know where to find another so I just joined the two wires. Runs like a dream
