New PAMCO electronic ignition on Mike's XS?

I bought and installed a PAMCO and need help with the trouble-shooting!!!

Installed the PAMCO on my 1979 xs400.
New coils, checked both the primary and secondary before install, and they were good to go.
New battery, checked and its fully charged
I removed left spark plug placed in the boot and grounded it to the cooling fins to ensure I had spark, I do.
Temp gas tank is hooked up, and the carbs are drawing fuel!

Here is the problem, it won't fire over. It seems like the spark is not igniting the gas. Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

You didn't mention timing. Has it been checked?
Once it's set and everything is tight it shouldn't need to be touched again, but it needs that first check.
Pete must have initial timing instructions but I believe his units fire at TDC for low RPMs, then at the LF mark for idling.

FFS.... I forgot about the timing, that said;

Step10: Install the PAMCO rotor with the magnets as shown with the copper washer in the rotor recess.

Step11: Tighten the bolt using a wrench with no more than a 3 or 4 inch length to prevent over tightening.

Step12: Check that the rotor turns freely and snaps back into position when released.

Step13: The engine should start now. If it does not start normally, check the installation and wiring.

Step14: Shut down the engine.

That said, it says it should fire up initially with-out the timing. Any idea where you attach the alligator clips to the unit?
