I ordered a hardtail kit from Voodoo vintage
Great hard tail tail kit. it goes together like lego,

I need a new longer rear axle bolt.

Does anyone know where I can get one

It needs to be approximately 10.5" long
and it needs to be 16.65mm shaft size.

If the axle plate spacing is the same, wouldn't the stock axle work? Or are the axle plates thicker? Also, isn't the axle 17mm?

Hi Travis
yes the axle is 16.66 ish mm
And no the new hard tail kit that I welded on makes it 1” wider, I’m going to need a 10.5” bolt with 1” of threade end, and New spacers to centre the wheel.
I’m going to have to get my machine shop to build me a new axle bolt.

Hmm. That seems odd that they're making them 1" too wide. Did you ask Voodoo vintage about it? Perhaps another year has wider spacing and then would also be a source for a longer bolt?

Installing the same hardtail kit. What solution did you find? ran into the same problem

My cousin squeezed his frame together with a ratchet strap on his xs650, Im currently building a 400 and ran into the same issue so I’m gonna talk to voodoo tomorrow see what they say and if they’re no help I will also be squeezing the two rear pieces together

Here is the solution I’ve created for the longer axle bolt being needed on the hardtail, I was digging around in the old parts of the bike and found the swing arm axle, went to the hardware store bought (2) 9/16 lock washers and (4)9/16 flat washers. The lock washers will not fit over the non threaded portion of the shaft but the flat washers will, photos attached for placement points, tire is center and there is no slop
