I've been to the LICS '11 show today as it is only about 1mile from where I live.

It only seemed about half the size as last year, I guess the "credit crunch" as they call it here in the UK is making its mark in the custom bike scene.

I was a bit disappointed really as it was mainly Harley's and companies selling bolt on Harely accessories. Some great fabrication skills on show but more in the radical custom class of bike that is impossible for the average home builder budget.

Here is a link to the photo's I took...

My camera is a bit old and doesn't like to focus when there is lots of shiney chrome around so the photo's area bit hit and miss, sorry...

(I can hear my dad in my head laughing at me for blaming the tool rather than the bad workman :D)

Man, Cad...that looks like it was an awesome show! And only one mile away from home! lol There are some really cool board tracker style bikes in the pics that I love!! Thanks for posting buddy!

was thinking of going to that, but the car blew up yesterday. Good pikkies though Cad, got any ideas from there?

Ah the exile trike was there. I just watched an old re-run of biker builder-off from when they build that trike about 5 or 6 years ago.

Thanks for taking all the pictures!

One of the guys from 'Chopperbuilder' forum went on Saturday, said the same thing, small and disappointing. Thanks for posting some pics

Hey Ivor, I went last year and there seemed loads more trade stalls and stuff for the average home builder to have a look at.

This year there was the usual high end stuff and big displays from Zodiac, Harrisons Billet and other bolt on Harley manufacturers and that was it really.

The stand out bike for me was the same as last year. The hand-built quality and design of the Shinya Harley on the Zero Engineering stand was amazing.

I was on the look out for ideas for fastening my rear mudguard to the swingarm and maybe some handlebars and muffler, but nothing  Bit disapointing for £15 (but I am a tight Yorkshireman :))

To see some more (and better quality) pictures from the show try the bubble visor blog.

It's a pretty cool blog anyway.

Thanks for the pics, I'll reserve my comments about most of the bikes there and just say:
 just because you can doesn't mean you should!

How about welding some tabs onto the front of the swingarm to mount the lower edge of the mudguard, and then make some struts to support the top edge, out of thin steel bar, that way you could bend them into a curve which may look more aesthetic than straight.
End result is going to look a bit like a modern hugger, is that what you're after ?

wow.. great pics man. thanks for sharing! especially love the orange vincent.
i thought bolt on harley stuff made me a custom builder... no?
