OK, So I have just started my journey to restore my bike. Had huge issues just getting the rear wheel off. The spindel was super-stuck. Had a neighbor come by with a tourch and we super heated it out. When I got the bike, the wheel were locked up as well. Finally got them loose. Boy, those brakes are in BAAADDD shape.
So, baby-step-wise, I got it to where I can push it around! yay!. For that is a big step. And now I've learned that stuborne bolts can sieze up and sometime require a little "extra" incentive to get loose.
alos, reading someother posts, Baggies is a great idea. I think I'll go get some of those and get a bit more organized before I tear into the rest of the bike.

Heres another update. Hit another milestone yesterday. I got the chain off! The gear box is turning! I'm thinking the transmission might not be as messed up as I thought! I'll keep you all informed

another major milestone reached. I have removed the engine! I have noticed that one of the support brackets on the top has broken off. I'm hoping that won't be too much of an ordeal. I have a neighbor who welds. Fortunately for me, he also builds bikes. Lots of rusty screws and bolts. Lots of cracked dried rubber as well.
Oh what fun!
