I was reading this thread at work this morning, my mate looks over my shoulder and says "he hasn't got much loaded on that cbr has he" then shows me his bike loaded two weekends ago, he was only doing a weekend away!!!

Mine was packed for a weekend but turned into 2 because a friend was killed by a tractor-trailer on US129. Looking at the load I'm positive mine out weighed plus I was riding 2 up.

Working on the wifes bike a bit. Added bar end mirrors last weekend, had plans to do the fork seals but the guy I ordered them from didn't send the till yesterday although I paid Monday. Removed the rear fender and mocked up the tail light today. Cleaned up the rear end a bit. Integrated the turn signals into the tail light aswell. This is just temporary until we order her a cbr600f4I smoked tail light. Considering making the front dual headlamps (when we get them) smoked aswell.

Plan to cut and grind the old turn signal mounts.

Haven't done much to hers lately other than cut the turn signal mounts and swapped out the shocks temporarly with something less... well, of an eye sore. Sadly though they're softer springs so don't work well with my weight.

I've started mocking up my build. Realized I'm missing a lot more than I though. I lack the swingarm bolt and front axle bolt but I'm wanting rs125 inverted forks, though they're very hard to come by around here. The tank is from a suzuki ts125 but just there for spacing for now. The seat is from the 2001 ninja I turned dualsport sitting behind it. Plan to use the same seat but cut down and cafed. I like the clearance but the seat needs to sit lower so I'm planning to adjust the frame below the seat so it cradles the seat. I'm torn on tanks. Thinking about a cb700 or cb280 I think it was. I want the knee dent look but a nice high arch.

Moving the rear fender down low to act as a "hugger" makes the bike look very tall. I like the proportions so far.

Haven't had to much time or funds to work on the bikes lately. Today I decided to do some patchwork on the cbrs plastics. While waiting for the resin to cure I decided to take some cardboard and play with the tail fairing for her bike. She's not a fan of leaving the side cover openings... well open... so far I like it and she loves it. Think of it as a seat cowl + tail fairing combo.

Managed to get a layer or two in every other day throught last week. Popped it off today, gunna cut the excess off and add fiberglass cloth to add a bit more thickness & strength.

Failed to mention she changed her mind about the heatlight again. She wants to keep the single but add a windscreen to it. We talked about it prior to the dual beam idea. Jc whitney has the screen she wants. Hopefully will get it and the tail light with income tax.

Been following MILLENNIUM FALCON's thread for a bit and last night it got me in the mindset to just on getting some more done on her bike. New shock absorbers on the way, 2" longer. Got K&N filter on the way aswell, and then last night I got her to decide on the exhaust. She couldnt really make up her mind on what she wanted exactly when it came to style but we both agreed it needed to be kicked up, tired of dragging the exhaust while cornering. So at last second before bed I made her come outside and watch as I mocked up the BioNinja's old Exhaust cans to her bike. She fell in love with it and decided she had to have it... so thats what I did today after work.

Awsome driveway mate:) Ive got a cbr600 same year as your 1000 thats my main transport too, both are still great bikes imo:thumbsup:

The K&N RU-2970 arrived yesterday, got it installed today. Have to either fight with rotating the battery box in frame or just take it out, install the filter and then reinstall the battery box. It JUST fits with the stock battery box, I had to adjust the harness a little bit to move the connectors right above the filter so they could be plugged back in. Also got the longer shocks today, 365mm or 14 3/8. I ordered the 440lb ones, which seem to be stiffer than the stock ones, but those were also old and endured the weight of many heavy men & women... lol So who knows, the height is quite nice for me, but its her bike... But we plan to lower the front in the triple trees an inch to inch and a half. It rides nice though. Front needs heavier oil.

Gunna have to tear into the wiring harness sometime soon. Ive suspected a short in the headlight bucket for a while now as the horn sometimes decides to turn itself on. Well other night we were riding from the college she attends and I look in my mirror and I cant see her, turn around and no headlight. I believe the fuse that runs the headlight also runs the dashlights? So im thinking the fuse blew but im betting due to the wiring.
