Hey guys,

When I’m at a stop light and in 1st with the clutch in the bike rev's up until I let the clutch out and lurch forward into gear, then it idles fine.

I’m going to tear into my carbs this weekend because I got new boots to attach to the motor. I’m going to clean them while I’m in there. What should I be looking for specifically in the carbs? I noticed on another thread a plugged idle circuit was to blame. (where is this?) Perhaps a broken mixture screw? (seeing they do absolutely nothing to the idle even when they are buried all the way in.:wtf:)

I’m all stock except for exhaust wrap.

Any insight would help

Thanks

So I replaced the boots this weekend and the rev'ing problem seemd to still be around (not so often though). I also cleaned out the pilot air jet which was totally plugged. Anymore ideas? I have my mixture screws at 3.5 turns from the bottom. To rich?

I did, I think I just need to find the sweet spot now that I dont have an air leak from my manifold boots and my pilot circut is clean. Ill check into it this weekend and let you guys know.

I cleaned out the idle curcuit and put new boots on. I put the mixture screws in to about 2.5 turns from the bottom and it works great. It seems to be the sweet spot for me. I ran about 260 miles this weekend and it went great. Ill check my plugs later this week to see how they look.

Make SURE the boots are tight. I had a similiar issue with rising and surging idle fora while, I tighented the boots down more and WHAM! Went away for good.

I do need to get new clamps though, mine are all stripped out. Hazzah PO's. :(
