What did you do with your XS today?

Added some gas, flipped the petcock from PRI back to ON and it runs on both cylinders again.
I will need to keep closer tabs on my mileage. The sr250 spoiled me with its 97 mpg - Imp (81 mpg - US, 34.5 km/litre).

Finished polishing and using the wire brush on all the alluminum. Installed battery and attempted to start her. Got her to fire a couple of times. The starter is bad so remved it and dropped the damn chain down. So...opened up the started and verified it is infact junk, took out the carbs to be cleaned, today going to resinstall everything after opening up that side of the engine to reinstall starter and check the timing. Going to just have to rely on kick start until I can find a new starter. Hoper she runs

went for another ride today, parked up the tracker, helmet off and walked away and immediately the bikers were all over it. they couldn't figure out what the bike is which was funny.

took the carbs off and strip them . they are now in the pot boiling for a while they better be clean this time

well good news they are clean and the old xs is alive :bike::bike: ... had a little spin around the block i just had too when she was running :D .... now i can move on to the rest of the restore sticky back brake thats next on the list of things to do

got out the 81 special 2 I purchased in the fall and pulled the carbs off to do a quick cleaning, replaced the cracked holders, fixed the hanging idle issue the previous owner was having by turning the mixture screw out to 3 1/2 turns from seated and took it for a good shakedown ride. Everything works pretty well. Looks like i may need to do some break work. There is some pulsation from the front drums on hard breaking

I honed the cylinders of the 400 jugs. I lubed the jugs with engine oil before honing, not sure if you are supposed to do that but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I used a cordless drill as I could control the speed a lot better with it than my corded drill. Turned out ok for the $20 the 3 stone hone cost me.

Put on a new muffler, turned out to be a prick. Had to mod the new muffler with an angle grinder to make it fit onto the pipe, lol. Worked out well though, so I guess its a story with a happy ending :)

you put a penis on an xs400 and then ground it down? ouch:eek:

Did a 450 mile round trip to the Cape for the annual blessing of the bikes on Sunday...shoulder's sore, but the ride was great. :bike:

Heat wrapped the left side and started on my new seat.
