Vancouver, BC and area, ROLL CALL!

We ride up to squeamish pretty regularly. Let's do it! How far along is your bike? I'll come help you work on it for an excuse to ride out there haha

you are free to come to williams lake to help work on mine

but honestly who comes here by choice...

blast right thro whistler and ride the 99 all the way thro to lillooet and youll find me! the duffy lake road would be a stellar ride in the summer, we get tons of bikes this way. although im working up north in hudsons hope this summer, and dont have my bike with me, i would be down to meet some fellow xs400 enthusiasts!

Hey everyone. i'm a big lurker, not so much of a poster. I'm in Vancouver and I am a new rider and got an XS400 as my first bike. It needs to be worked on as it isn't safe to ride :( I don't even know where to start.

Hi and welcome!
Tires and brakes (including new dot3), chain and sprockets, cables, lights. Not necessarily to replace, but definitely take apart and inspect these things.
- e.g., tires can have lots of tread but be too old and dried out (check the 4 number code on each). Might not blow, but won't grip properly. Or, they could have only 50% tread but be nearly new and just fine for a year and a few k.
I wouldn't trust the brake fluid unless the PO could show me when it was replaced.
Rear brake linings might have enough thickness but be so old that they are de-laminating.

That's just a bunch of my 2nd-hand knowledge - not a complete list. Others with 1st hand knowledge will no doubt chime in.

I went camping a couple times along chilliwack river on the back of my bike. I loved bike camping. I have a good crew too. It feels awesome not being able to rely on 4 wheels haha. Pik of me out in Tofino on our island trip

my friend has emigrated to Sarnia just last week.

A classic biker through and through, so hopefully won't be bikerless for too long I hope.

The weather is here. well its going away for the week but who is in the Vancouver area and wants to go for a cruise once the sunshine returns! I live out in north burnaby, could go for a quick ride after work or save it for a weekend. PS, went to the shop the other day, the place acutally called "the shop". super sick. look it up, right in china town.
