sealers only fail because the tanks were not prepped properly. I have two bikes with sealant in and no issues. That ethanol attracts water and rusts tanks from the inside out as water sinks due to being heavier than fuel.

looks like an aftermarket brake switch, normally a rod comes from the bottom

good way is to back bleed using a syringe, pull the fluid down forcing it past the master seals. pump brake too to help move the fluid. I've had mu callipers suspended above the master cylinder so bubbles rise to the bleed nipple overnight.

you can actually run these engines backwards if the ignition timing is wrong. electronic ignition helps to prevent this. You need to start from the beginning, check cams, your on actual TDC firing and then ignition test using a dwell meter. leads are easy to swap around too
