    Yes definitely replacing all the seals, the diaphragms are in good condition they checked out on the slide vaccum check

    Yes! Two intact idle screws!! Funny how such little things can make you boiling mad! At least I have parts to work with. Time to tear down 2 sets of carburetor's to make one serviceable set. The happy mechanics smile is back on my face!

    48 hours with the white vinegar drained off 2gals and put some chain link and chain bead and went to work on it.     Took the tank off, removed petcock, PO had the inside of the tank sealed I literally pulled the liner out of the tank So much for that! it has light surface rust will use white vinegar to clean. Diaphragm's on carbs are good passed the ops ck will open them up later today to check inside

    Installed pamco ignition last week, last several days cleaned up my battery tray mounted and wired in a xj550 regulator/rectifier. Got everything put back together, bike fired up and is running great! Took it for a spin, instant throttle response vast improvement.

    I'll try to keep it as original as possible, I guess it was a good thing after all getting the first bike. Now I have a source for parts and can take my time restoring the bike, riding and enjoying it.
