Disregard piston question. I was using a 3 ounce canister mini grease gun and could not tell if it was working. Took two tubes but took lots more pumping than I would have thought. Easy to clean, and I was able to screw the grease gun tip into the banjo bolt hole.

In the past I've gotten a magnetic field from the generator field coil and it magnetized anything on the case. Now, if I bypass everything and put good new battery to coil green, it only magnetizes the coil and not the case. Book shows 4 ohms, I show 4.2. Stator ohms good and equal. Ideas...

RESOLVED DELETERD

Hours of carefully not stripping socket bolts from left side generator cover. (Heat, cool, repeat). Now, wires at bottom of cover prevent removing cover. Do not want to strip anything. Suggestion? Cannot see very well due to cover bottom not moving. Some way to push wires out? Simple stuff...

1980 400 xs special Stator AC at 56 volts for all three white wires. Supposed to be 75? Good, bad? Ohms @ .6 all three

1980 400 XS. Ohms at .6 for all three stator wires. Good? Go to regulator next for charging problem? Are regulator and rectifier the same? Is the regulator/rectifier if combined, the harness with the one black and one red and three white wires ? Thanks for viewing!
