Greg Hageman build an XS400 Maxim!

Dear XS400 enthausiasts, It is a pleasure to announce that Greg Hageman (in my opinion one of the great Yamaha customisers) did a XS400 Maxim. Let it be said that he did this job for a friend just to finish it up and get the main lines in order and everything. I just can't help but to find this...

    Clutch

This is for the cable, the steel wire inside the plastic is probably to dry causing a lot of drag along the entire lenght. I should not take it off before you've tried it. Would be wasted efforts If you ask me. So the lubbing agent should go inside the cable! Sorry for not specifying that earlier

    Clutch

Put WD40 in it. Or any other oil or silicon based lubing agent. Make sure to excesively lube while pulling the handle back and fort. And let it work in all night. Makes a hell of a difference !

That is exactly what I'm aiming for actually I've been thinking about modifying the swingarm to incorporate a nice fender into it giving it a more speedy look. Seat wise I'm thinking something a little bit like the picture. And subframe wise I also totally agree, I mean to get rid of the old...

    83' Maxim caferacer build

Yeah I will! In the Netherlands we have multiple stores that sell them to. Want to avoid ordering from the States due to shipping costs and customs, so if I'm able to avoid that I will. But if I swap everything I think I want a little more top speed out of it... I got a engine with a 6-speed...

Well we got a little wrenching time yesterday, front wheel went in without any issues. Needed to fit a little spacer behind te new disc (5.5mm). On the back things did not go so smoothly, I think I bought myself a NOS rear wheel for no money (€35) because this thing really looks like new. The...
