I bought an OEM yam yb125 master. It’s 11mm instead of 14 piston so gives a lot of force on the disc. I didn’t really trust a pattern Chinese brake! It always a pain to bleed. Just have to keep at it. I think I took off the calliper in the end and clampe it onto an old disc to get the last bit...

Well spotted xschris, that’s a challenge to do to the carbs for sure! With 3900 miles suggest you leave the engine well alone apart from standard oil change, valves, points etc. Have you ever had it running?

Hi Buddha, congratulations on a great thread. Will look forward to the rest of the build and the carb set up. just wondering if you e looked at some of the posts here on keeping the H pipe, and suggest you add some spacers in the forks when you get around to them. BR

I’d go with No1. Looks plenty strong enough. No 3 means cutting the carb body, hmm, and No 2 looks too close to the fold to tap.

What was in there before wasn’t original either. Original is spring wire, available in some places

Recommend you keep all the old jets, unless u r 110% certain that new ones are good Let us know how it goes when gasket arrives

Y that would be a pain, but like you say it’s pretty well fixed in there. Have you tried a hole saw? I drilled out the baffles on a exhaust with one, but you may need a new drill to make a pilot hole. It’s shouldn’t be too hard, may be it’s the chrome plating that is making it hard to drill

Why not just cut 1/2 inch off the ends of the bars?

Jeez, nice photos and great to see what oil does. Like you said can’t believe it ran at all.

So if the inlet valve on cylinder 1 opens 30 degrees BTDC, and closes at 70 ATDC, that means there is 90 degrees of rotation until the inlet valve on cylinder 2 opens. Basically the carb is in almost continuous use for 290 degrees of rotation, then has a pause of 430 degrees before opening...

Hiya, I built a new harness from scratch, cost about £70 for all cable, connectors, crimper etc. There’s a great how to by Drewpy on this site. You will really get to understand how your bike works, and sounds like the old one has been well abused. Good luck with it

Wow, is that seriously the head angle? Your going to need some pretty strong forks and bracing to make sure it doesn’t bend when you hit the first pothole. Be great to see your first ride out on video. Best of luck

Hi Ramsey, I looked into this a few years ago and found a few posts on this forum from people that had successfully converted to single carb and found it ran a whole lot better. I haven’t done it, but if you have the skills to make the 2into 1 manifold I’d give it a go.
