    19" dual disc alternative

Hey y'all, so my buddy and I were doing the exhaust on my chop last night and started talking about front end swap options for his CB700sc. Got me thinking about wheel options for mine, so I started digging into 19" 7 spoke mags on the front of my chop. I'll be going with the 80-81 xs850 front...

    Volcom's Rebuild Build

Then i needed a New electronics box, as my previous design was juuuust too shallow to fit my key switch. Did that, got it mounted up, and moved onto the pegs. My old setup was some, large bolts running thru my frame where the bolts stuck out for the frame for the stock pegs. I cut those...

    Volcom's Rebuild Build

So that came courtesy of mototrooper. Correct me if im wrong, but the front end consists of: TT500 trees. Virago 535 forks and lowers. Machined XS400 front axle. SR500 rotor. Fzr600-900 front caliper. Renthal bars. Fancy TDM870 adjustable master cylinder. And a fender that is JUST too small to...

    Volcom's Rebuild Build

Damn Volcom, back at it again with the flakeyness. Sorry for the lack if updates. Various reasons abound, but most are excuses, so ill just hop to it with progress pics. I had picked up a front end off some Kawasucki for $25 with knob-adjustable fork dive dampers that activate when your front...

My XS literally caught on fire.

Is your seat missing those rubber bumpers? Could it have shorted on the seat pan and set your foam and other flammables in the area ablaze?

Oil leak from Clutch rod seal?

Yes, it slides out, and there is a little ball bearing that doesn't always come out when you pull the rod. Make sure it doesn't fall out when your not looking. You don't want to lose that. A dental pick should get the seal out. Installation is reverse of removal

    Volcom's Rebuild Build

Thanks man, that's my aim this time around. Bought a mikesxs exhaust builder kit and a pamco ignition. Both are things I've been drooling over for this bike. Any guesses as to exhaust plans? Hahaha A teaser.

    Westy's little tracker

Depending on what it is, yes. To my knowledge; carbs, pistons, jugs, and maybe camshafts are diff.

    Westy's little tracker

Downlad the service manual off the site. It helps a lot, and I believe it will go over your vin questions. It will also show weather or not the 250 and 300 have the same gearing. They share the same case, if that's what your asking.

    joe wiseguy intake

When you take out your idle air mixture screws, do they have 2 tapers? If you only see one, then make sure the second taper isn't broken off and stuck in the carb body. Apparently they tend to snap and get stuck due to over tightening. Words come from an ex-yamaha mechanic that worked on them...

    Volcom's Rebuild Build

Got the new electronics box tacked up. Much smaller and slimmer than my old one, which was half of a harley FLH oil tank. Waaaay too big for my exhaust plans. Anderson peg for size and depth reference
