SO without my filters it runs amazing.... when i put the Pods back on... hesitates when i gun it!! i rejetted up and down.. all cleaned up... going to check now to see if there is a inner lip on filter any suggestions???

So i have a xs400 kick only wired up all good... got good spark and good compression... but no start!! a backfire every now and then..... charged battery as well... seems like no fuel going in tank.. was running i changed tank.. has no vacume spot so i plugged the intake boots??? thanks...

So I did an engine swap. I used a manual and did all the right steps when installing the other engine. I got it all reconnected and cleaned up. I filled it with 2 quarts of oil and put new gas in it. Went to start it up and after about 15 seconds of cranking it a loud bang was emmitted from the...

ya so im doing this buil... got it all back together.... got gas.. and trying to fire it up... wont kick over it has spark on both sides .. i checked compression and its only at 30psi.... before the build it was 150!!!

So im putting back on my Exhaust and i can figure out the damn Flanges...ha...

The 2 main Screws holing it in has 2 washers each? why? i fully forgot how it went when i took it off.. was so long ago... im wondering if i have it on wrong and thats why im only getting spark on one side...

Here is what im building... just need to get her started before i get the polish out ha what i have done hardtailed Kick only Coils are where the starter was wired from scratched... problems i have had broken kickstart from the block broke a few bolts now only sparks on right side...

Damn it! just wired it from the ground up.. New plugs.... Coils are good and both getting power... now what?

So i have a question.. Im putting on a sportster tank.. New PetCock with No Vacuums.......So Gas cap Vented? or non Vented? Also i know i have to Barb up the Vacs on the intake.... but now what with the Choke?

Wheres a good place / website to get Xs400 parts? like chrome stuff and block off parts... say a starter block off... i took my starter out and doing kick only and also took the Tach off and ned to block off the Tach hole ... thanks
