    Wiring Harness

Call me lazy or whatever else fits but I'm looking for prefabed wiring harness for my 1977 XS400. I've tinkered with the factory harness enough and it's time to put a new one in. I'd prefer to just plug and play. However, I've spent some time reading over Drewpy's how to on wiring and feel...

    Valve cover O rings

I can not for the life of me find the specs for what size o ring should go under the valve stem cover. Does anyone know what the stock spec is for a 1977? I've got a slow peak coming from there and I'm getting tired of feeding the thing oil.

    Larger tires?

Alright guys I've got a 77 and the factory tire sizes are 90/90 18 and 110/90 18. I want to run fatter tire on both front and rear. Has anyone gone bigger and not had to do any mods with a 110/90 18 front and a 120/90 18 rear. Or should I go with a 110/80 18 and a 120/80 18 for a lower profile?

    blinker/flasher issue

A few weeks ago I installed some small led blinkers on the ol girl and for some reason they aren't flashing. Does anyone know if getting an updated flasher will cure this problem or are the led designed to run a different way? On a side note i've finally been able to get the frame cut and a...

    Coils and plug Wires

Alright. They probably do need to be replaced. Will I need to replace the entire coil and all or would I be able to just replace the wires and caps?

    Coils and plug Wires

Hey guys I went for a ride the other day and the old girl started having issues. It sounded like it was only firing from one cylinder. I've changed the plugs and checked the carbs. I just went through and tested the coils and both were reading at the correct numbers. However, when i pulled...

    cafe seat???

If you dont mind me asking how much did that set ya back? Ive got the design drawn up that I want for a custom seat, but if I can get it done for a reasonable price using the factory pan I would go that route.

    650 Engine

Figured. Thought I'd read something on here about the mounting being the same but now that I think about it, it was the 400 motor fitting the 360 frame I think.

    650 Engine

Hey guys I recently ran across a 650 engine that has been completely redone and bored. Are the mounting points for the 400 frame the same as those of the 650 to make for an easy fit?

    Another tire question

Drewpy, I've been looking for those Bridgestone bt45's and haven't been able to find them with the correct rear size. Did you order yours from somewhere in the US or the UK and also what size were you able to fit on the rear. Mine currently is running a 18X3.5 on the rear and a 18X3.0 on the front.

    Another tire question

I'm putting my christmas list together right now guys because that's the only way I can justify buying anymore parts at the moment and tires are on the top of that list. I'm looking at the Britdgestone bt45's and the Avon Roadriders am26. But both are tubeless and my wheels requre tubes. I've...

Fubar when you do end up ordering the rings, post up where you got them from. I've been looking for a set for my 77 but they are ridiculously expensive.

    piston ring 1st over

Well considering the age of the bike I just figured while I had the engine opened up I'd go ahead and start replacing some of the internals as I went and the rings are something that prob need some attention.
