My tracker build is finally (almost) complete!

I have a painter friend who did it for trade for a seat upholstery job. It's three colors of flake, a candy coat and then 5 coats of clear! Pretty bitching, huh?

The fork brace is vintage! I'll put up a sound clip as soon as I can! It does sound pretty mean!

My tracker build is finally (almost) complete!

Thanks guys! It's been my dream for a long time and I'm stoked I was able to convert it relatively easily to rip on the track. It's a bit big but I can still slide it around, though I am nervous about scratching the tank, haha!

    Wanted - Square Tank Needed!!!

Yeah, I've seen that one. I just don't want to pay over $500 just for a tank. I could have a fiberglass one made for cheaper. It's just for racing so it doesn't need to be NOS. Thanks though!

Hey there, I made the seat myself. That's what I do for a living. Check out my website www.newchurchmoto.com and I'm on Facebook as New church Moto. Thanks a lot!!

    Wanted - Square Tank Needed!!!

I need a square tank for my '77 xs400. Any tank after 1979 will not work!!!!! I have been looking on ebay and NOTHING! Any leads would be appreciated, I'd rather not spend more than $100. Thanks.

My tracker build is finally (almost) complete!

I've been MIA for a long while, but now I'm back. Currently I am flat track racing my bike so it looks a little bit different than this first pic, but tell me what you all think! New seat, tail section, paint job, custom exhaust, tomasselli handlebars, throttle, grips, Dunlop 60/40 tires...

Re-positioning rear suspension?? OK, or no good?

This is my inspiration, Triumph tiger cubs are so awesome!

Re-positioning rear suspension?? OK, or no good?

Also, does anyone know if the engine/ stator cover and plate are the same on all XS's? Mine broke when I got hit and there's one up on ebay right now but it's from an '82. I'm assuming it's not but I can't tell from the picture.

Re-positioning rear suspension?? OK, or no good?

I really like how that looks, I'm thinking of going with 14" Hagon slimline twin shocks and I think actually just adding the height I may not even have to move the brackets to get a slightly more upright, dirt bikey feel. Awesome.

Re-positioning rear suspension?? OK, or no good?

HA! Opposite direction, but awesome. How does it handle??? Or maybe you haven't run it yet..

Re-positioning rear suspension?? OK, or no good?

So, I'm rebuilding my little tracker for the second time after getting hit for the second time! Idiot drivers, :banghead: I'm taking it from a pretty basic cleaned up street tracker look to a little bit more of a dirt tracker/dirt bike/trials bike/bratty look if that makes sense at all...hahaha...

Ha! Thanks, I think one is enough...

Pinholes in my tank after dipping it..what do I do?

Cool, thanks guys. I shall try coating it myself like I was originally going to do. I might have a friend try to tig weld some of the seams before hand...we'll see.

Pinholes in my tank after dipping it..what do I do?

I took my tank to American Metal Cleaning and had them dip it to take off the paint cause I didn't want to spend a shitload of time grinding it down. Now there are a few little pinholes at the seams and the gas is leaking. I went to Vicious Cycle to see if they had something to coat the inside...

Slow progress on the street tracker..

Awesome! Look forward to it, thanks!

Slow progress on the street tracker..

Yeah, it's strong enough! There are some rubber shock mounts on the frame, and then it's bolted through the side rear section on each side. Also, when I do the seat, there is a separate upholstery pan that fits snugly onto the seat, with layers of foam so it ends up being pretty strong.

Here's an updated pic, it's getting there! Just needs the seat, tank coated and painted, then decals and I'm good to go!
