xschris, whats the thread on that bolt you are using in your pic? I guess the impact gun is another option to try but the force needed to strip the thread the way I did normaly would have been more then enough to seperate them, there must be something else effecting it.
I was using a 3 jaw puller and I left the bolt in but it is so tight that the puller damage the edges of the alternator and popped off even though I had zip ties holding it in place, I had so much force on it (I didn’t relies at the time that it was that much) that the puller pushed the bolt...
Hay Greasey
just finshed my tear down the other day, quick question how easy was it to get your alternator off of the crank shaft? Mine was so hard it's still on there and i might have damaged the internal thread for the alternator bolt which i'm a bit pissed about. Looks like someone might...
i've cut mine done. Wouldn't say cafe style but it might give you some ideas and i'd be happy to be a sound board.
On my seat the shape was quite deceptive as the foam was quite thin in place and the shape was more to do with seat pan.

So I told my girlfriend that i would have her bike finished buy the summer after it's been sitting in the garage for the last 6 months. So this will be my story and this is what i have done so far.
hi greasey fingers.
when you loosened the nuts in order did you completely loosen each one all the way one after the other or did you loosen them a few turns each at a time?
looking at the picture it doesn't look completely gone, maybe spend them money on a very good quality socket with a...
Hi Cad likeing the build, looks like it's all coming together really well.
I like the look of those rear shocks you got there was thinking about something similar myself to give the rear end a little bit of hight.
Could you tell me what make are they? how long? and where did you get them...
I know this is a stupid question and 99% sure I know the answer but i just want someone the make it 100% clear.
The fork brace clamps to the fork body and not the fork tubes, right?
Was wondering what to do with my wheels the other day, I like the retro look of the wire wheels but have got the 7 spoke alloys and can really avoid to change. So anyway long story short, was thinking about polinshing the alloys to a mirror finish and wondered if anyone has done this before or...
So would that mean just getting jets the same size as the ones in a 400 carb or because the carbs are smaller and they hold less petrol and allow less air in meaning working out a new jet size to achive the same performance :banghead:, or am I over thinking the whole thing.
Ok, so here are some pics, front, side, back and with the floats in place and what the manual says the height should be. The frame number is 4G6-006721.
I'll try and get some pictures on here but there were a few tell tales, 1. the floats were set at 26mm and not 32mm which is too big to be a mistake 2. there should a valve in the carb mouth but there’s not 3. I checked it against picture on Google and they are definitely different. The bike has...
