Anyone heard of a 5GZ15 needle for the BS34?

Hmmm, I guess that that means that this needle is probably stock, because if it can't be bought anywhere it has to be stock, and there are other hard to find needles as well that were stock. I think I will just get the other jets in that case and see how it goes. Thanks for the info.

Anyone heard of a 5GZ15 needle for the BS34?

My canadian 1980 XS400 special has a 271 y-4 needle jet, and an adjustable 5gz15 needle. I am trying to set up the jetting for my pod filters and am ordering 45 and 47.5 pilots, and 137.5, 140 and 142.5 mains. I would like to order the right needle and needle jet, but I can't figure out which...

Strange carb jetting in new bike

I got it started, it runs pretty well, pops a little as it returns to idle from higher rpm, but runs pretty well. I will play with it some more.

Strange carb jetting in new bike

Hello again, I finally got a 1980 XS400SE. It has the third version of the BS34 carbs. I am trying to get the carbs as close to stock as possible as a baseline to begin jetting properly. I can't find any other info about the needle my carbs have, and was wondering if anyone can give me clues on...

    upgrade charging system?

Wow, that is great to see. My last bike, a DRZ400, had no battery, just a capacitor, and a 70 watt headlight. It never had any trouble starting or powering that light. I had a hidden switch that disconnected everything except the engine and computer during starting, then once it was running I...
