    Modern '79 cafe build

Yup, just towed it to the DMV and patiently talked to them about it until they understood the deal.

I was able to title and register my Lancia Scorpion (basket case) with a bill of sale, so no problem

I think your front wheel and tire will be wider than your rear from the get go.

Hey everyone, just posted a video about the build with some running/riding shots. Hope it inspires others to complete their projects, it's worth it.

At this point perhaps switch the leads from the coils? It's a 180 twin and when I first put mine together I had them wrong, switched the leads and VROOM!

The start of a very long road

You lucky duck! Wow, people actually know what to do with grease nipples on your side of the pond.

Buy the whole donor bike. Failing that, all the parts should fit fine. Have you attempted to remove the swingarm from your bike yet? The condition in the photos suggest it's (probably) stuck on the pivot bolt. Carry on with the windmill jousting (like I'm one to talk).

My battery has been fairly low for a while, just holds a "surface" charge but the kickstarter has reliably started her up every time. Runs like a 70's scalded cat. If you're needing to do forensic startups hook up a car battery.

    Back to the track.

Are there track times for vintage machines or are you going to have to tolerate the modern weapons attempting to suck you into their wake?

Newbie from South East UK with a Basket Case XS250

I've been watching some Allen Millyard videos and he showed how he takes fouled plugs and puts them in his barbecue to burn off the carbon build up. Smart fellow.

    Hello Everyone.

When you said you put cheap oil into it, what type of oil was it? Automotive oils have extra additives that will cause slippage.

New guy probably asking the same dumb question about how to add a kickstart

Welcome and props for your creative bent! I totally missed learning about that desert in Rhode Island in my geography class. Yeah looking at your avatar photo it looks like a DOHC engine. Not certain how to do a kick start on that, although with your creativity you may be able to.
