Thanks ! I actually made those pipes, my first attempt at welding / exhaust fab

I ran a 142 main jet with everything else stock on my stock bs34 carb. Never could find a way to keep the left cylinder from leaning out, because of the 180 degree crank.

I honestly dont know, didnt try a 450

400 on the front 500 on the rear, Rear really should have been a 450 it was tight and didnt completely seal on the rim and was really close to the chain. 400 fit fine on the fornt as long as you dont plan on running a front fender.

I would go 450, 500 didnt seal very well on the rim and it was really close to the chain.

The left side runs lean and not much you can do because of the 180 degree crank from what I have found online.

I know 400-18 fit no problems on the width the rear is where it was really close with my 500-16

Sure the 450 doesnt have something to do with the width ?

well the wiring diagram says it goes to the left. I currently have the gray wire going to the right and my bike is running..... If it wont start swap them around :)

Did u high temp silicone spray your exhaust wrap? If not I recommend u do. It will stay blacker and keep pipe temps lower

Spokes are stock, Steel wool and polished every one of them. I did have to cut off part of the passenger foot peg and drill a hole for the pegs to mount to.

There are a couple of you tube videos not sure if that gives you a good enough view of my legs or not. back of the pipes are totally fine and the sides dont really get close unless you put your knees to the tank.

Chain is to close to the tire not even 1/8 inch clearence so a thinner rear would be better. 18" front 16" rear not sure on the wheel width they are the stock wheels that came on a 1981 xs400 special II
