use a box end wrench big enough to fit over the shifter and pry it out. very easy to do, had to do mine a few times after the kickstand didn't do it's job.

I agree. I welded a tab just under the seat on my old one and hooked up a pull switch for the headlights and a push button start. Worked perfect and you couldn't see them.

Well hell i'll trade you that 18" mag for the 16" that's on my other 400. I think it's actually got a fatter than stock rear tire on it already. I've also got a brand new rear tire that IS larger than stock

Sorry just sold it on sunday. I do have another drum brake rear wheel and swing arm from a 650. I know the axle size is different but not sure about the mounting point at the frame. What's wrojng with your swing arm?

Once you pull those nuts on the bottom and the nut/pin on the end, it should just fall right off, that's it. Don't forget your speedo cable too though.

Depending on your fabrication experience, you can drop the seat down and relocate the shocks. Along with dropping the front this will get you at about 3-4" frame clearance ride height. But i can tell you that you won't be stretching out. Being 6'2 and wanting to lower it you might be better off...
