    Pressure Plate Bolt Torque

Hey man! I don't recall finding any torque settings for the cover bolts. I just hand tighten them reminding myself this not farm equipment and aluminum is always a little softer than I think. Make sure you use an OEM gasket. I found out the hard way that RTV won't cut it. [Keith]

    Shinko 705's: What'd you think?

Thanks for the info! I don't know why I find motorcycle tire size so dang confusing! It looks like a 110/90 doesn't come in the 18in wheel size. Would 4.10 -18 on front and back work? If it does work it that going to be so wide I start to lose agility? Thanks again! -K

    Shinko 705's: What'd you think?

My 1977 xs360 is set for some new tires. I really like the shinko 705's. Has anybody out there given these a shot? Bonus question! I've got the 18in spoked wheels, what size would be a good compromise between the fatty tire cafe racer look and functionality? I was thinking 120/80 - 18 for...

Blown ignition fuse and coils after 10k rev

Hi all, I've got a puzzling problem. After a complete carb rebuild on my 1977 xs360 I was stress testing it. At first I took it on an easy in town ride followed by the freeway. Everything went awesome until about a mile from my house I pulled the clutch and rev'ed my engine up to around 10k. My...

    Kickstart installation

Ha! I didn't follow through with the purse technique, but i did however, find the problem. I was using the silicone form-a-gasket stuff which means the 1-2mm of clearance the paper gasket provided was no longer there. This meant the kickstarter shaft rubbed the inside of the case cover and the...

    Kickstart installation

Hey guys, Thanks for the input! I still haven't got it. Under stand how the assembly fits in now, however once the assemble is in place and I pull the spring tang back an inch or so there's not enough spring power to return the kickstarter. Which means I'm really not getting it or I have to pull...

    Pressure Plate Bolt Torque

Hey! You guys are awesome! I got it properly torqued and everything seems good. The clutch does seem rather stiff though. I have no reference point since I've never actually riden a motorcycle... How hard should it be to squeeze the clutch lever?

    Pressure Plate Bolt Torque

Hello xs400 forum. I've got a 1977 xs360 that I'm rebuilding the clutch on. Here is the issue. I've messed up two inner hubs by over-tightening the pressure plate springs. What is the proper torque. I've read and reread the manual and the haynes book, but cannot find anything concerning...
