Thanks I was able to leave it in place and replace the seals. Then when it put it back together I was able to torque it with a crows foot attached to the torque wrench. All good now nice and dry forks now. No leaky leaky !:bike:

Thanks BBS360! that looks like a pain in the rear to do all that just to replace the fork seals. Thanks for the response. I think I will be able to get a crows foot under it . I will post if it works. I just want to get a torque wrench on it. I have been know to over tighten bolts!:banghead:

Hey guys, I'm in the process of replacing the fork seals on my bike. 81 SOHC/H The issue i'm having is that I can't seem to figure out how to remove the vanity Yamaha cover that covers the lower triple tree. I was able to loosen the bolt and remove the forks. Now when it comes time to torque...

I found some grommets that would fit in Lowe's Home store in the hardware bins.:thumbsup:

I think that will work but I bent the metal band on the back side of the gauge so you would not see the bent up metal.

Take the guages out of their metal buckets. Flip the guages over and use a screw drive or little pry bar and bend the metal lip seal holding the glass lens to the plastic case of the guage. Expand the metal just enough to separate the lens and metal seal from the plastic case. spray some brake...

Hey XSChris will this petcock fit my 81 H sohc tank?

I was woundering if i could get some advice on a good line to use on the vacuum line from the petcock to the intake boot? I currently have a fuel line connecting the two, but it gets pretty hot / soft after a good long ride. What type, size line and where can i get one at? It is clear line now...

Thanks guys I got it. I had the higher voltage at the end of last riding season and I forgot to check the connections. I had taken off the head light bucket to paint it and disconnected all the wires in there and put it back together last night. One of the wires in there must of had a bad...
