Update, i finally got some time to test for continutiy using this multimeter

i set it to the upper OHM setting and put either ends on the green leeds and then the red leeds and it shot right up indicating continutiy if im not mistaken.

I also gave a try at @tstidham tip on making sure that the piston is TDC and still found that the small pin was at 6 oclock (when its supposed to be at 12).

Im a bit confused at the momment about if its a electrical issue or a timing issue. if its a electrical issue ill have to order a new points system and see if that works but makes me skethcy about the timing issue since the instructions for the point based system says to have the engine at LT and that pin being at 12 oclock.

what do you guys suggest?

I also noticed this black module on the under side of the bike, im not sure if this is a tci or something un related

Quick update — I reached out to Mikes XS and got the suggestion to check the resistance on both ignition boards. Interestingly, there's a significant difference in resistance between the top board’s prongs (marked in red) and the bottom one (marked in blue).

That inconsistency has me thinking it's probably worth fixing the camshaft alignment and replacing the ignition system altogether, since this one doesn’t seem reliable.

Update on this,

I pulled off the top end of the engine and rotated the crank shaft to be at 12 o'clock, the engine was on LT and TDC.

After that I charged up the battery and reinstalled the ignition kit but STILL no luck, still no spark on the left. I think the next thing to do is to just spend the money on ordering a new ignition system and trying that out. I cant imagine what else is wrong with this no left spark issue at this point

Another thing I noticed is that when I set the bike to LT it sort of jerks forward, I took a video below to show what I mean

I went out and bought a new battery today, charged it up, and still haven't had any luck with the left spark. It looks like it has to be the ignition system.

My question is, should I bother with getting a new Mikes XS electronic ignition, or should I revert it to the old points-based system?

I saw some people on the xs650 forum talking about avoiding mikes xs so that leaves with minimal options for this ignition system

any help is appreciated!
