1979 xs400 battery box removal

I removed the two retaining bolts at the top, it seems to be attached to two rubber grommets at the front and a small screw at the front-right. Should I pull it straight back with decent force to dislodge the grommets and then access the screw, or is there some crap I gotta remove first? I'm trying to install a larger battery, it's dimensions are the same except it's longer by 10mm so if removing the box is a pain honestly I might hacksaw the rear-facing plate off and call it a day

I'm new to bikes myself, but I found I had to turn and rotate the battery box quite a bit to find an angle that it would come out. First move once unbolted was to move it back a bit to get the mounting ears out of the way.
