I have a XS500 that I'm new to and is in pretty good shape. I don't want to mess it up.
I stumbled upon a '81 XS400 that has seen better days. Engine is seized, and the chain, seat, tank, carbs and possibly other bits are missing. I grabbed it for education purposes - something to tear apart, look at, explore and then ????

Some decent parts are compatible with my XS500 - I'll hang on to most of those.
Some parts are clearly trash (lots of rubber bits falling to ribbons, cracked brake line, shattered reflectors).
But some are probably still useful to others.

Where do you guys go looking for parts? is selling online worth it?
I'm located in Manitoba - so if there are folks local with an interest in some of the bits, hit me up and let's make a deal.

Thumbs up on selling the parts to those who need them. That exhaust will probably find a buyer as would the dash, coils...

I would post it in the Classified forum here with a For Sale tag. It will stay at the top longer than on the Garage. You also just need to post some pics like above and not detail everything as most folks here will recognize what they are looking at. It will be low impact on you to list.

If you are ambitions, eBay is the other place, but you will have to list every item separately with part numbers and pictures. Sort of a pain to do, but it will find a big audience. Facebook Marketplace is another option, but I only consider it for whole bikes or engines, selling loose parts there might be a real PITA. My two cents....

Close. Saskatchewan next door is land locked. We've got the port of Churchill up North :)

But, yeah, pretty much in the middle of no where:bike:
