'83 xs400 Battery

Hey guys I'm completely new to motorcycles. I just bought a 1983 Yamaha xs400. I'm looking for the battery but cannot find it. Can anybody tell me where the battery is?

Should be under the seat I think unless they moved it for the later years, then maybe behind a side cover?
