Classic TT and Manx GP

Hi Folks, been away for two weeks on the Isle of Man for the classic motorcycle festival which is the classic TT and Manx GP.

Lots of MV tripples and fours there from '68 Ago period and even saw a german xs400 which I never saw parked up only riding in the opposite direction.

A friend and I have dreamed for several years of going to the Isle of Man Classic races but from here in the US the trip is much to expensive for the average retiree. I buy the DVD every year and just dream.

i met a guy from California, he flew in and hired a bike on the island ( a Hinkley Triumph)

Yeah that would be awsome, more of a pilgrimage than a holiday Is accommodation pricy drewps, where do you stay when there?

I paid £15 a night for a flat with a few mates.

the venture centre can accommodate you for £12.50 a night but you need to find your own food as well. that's where it mounts up

I looked at going this year but without knowing someone in the area it was going to cost about $5000.00 US dollars including air fair for a week. Knowing someone who knows the ins and outs and wasn't trying to make money off me would really make life better! Any way we can plan now for next year would be great.

I'm not going next year, as traveliing round spain for a week, but probably year after.
I'll put a heads up on here when I go. Flats a bit cramped with 5 fellas but great craic
