Just about done building this Brat bike. Its my first bike, I'm only 16. Picked it up stock and running. Cut off the rear portion of the frame and welded on a loop. Found an old fender in my dad's buddy's scrap pile. Bought a good cafe style taillight. Took off the old riser handlebars and replaced them with clip-ons and lowered the front an inch. Threw some Shinko 244 tires on it (front: 3.5-18, rear: 4.6-18), had to remove the front fender to fit the new tire. Here she is! all that is left is rear turn signals,:confused: still brainstorming ideas...

The tires are great, can't feel the knobs going down the road, once broken in they are very soft. They aren't as loud as I thought they would be, but if you pay attention you can kind of hear them. They are sized very weird...I originally ordered a 3.5-18 and a 4.1-18 and the 3.5 was much bigger than the 4.1.....kinda odd. I have a 4.1-18 that was only used for 100 miles if anyone wants one.

Scooters.....Custom Buell.....1967 Firebird.

A simple build, but striking nonetheless. Looking good! The paint looks surprisingly well preserved
What would finish the bike imho is a smaller speedo/tacho unit :)

What is the actual physical clearance width of those shinko 244's you have on there ? The price is right for my cheap ass budget :D

On their website, it shows the 3.50x18 tire is a 3.66" width and the 4.60x18 tire is listed as 4.37" width. I assume this is the width of the carcass not including the protruding knobbies? I sent a request for an actual measured width through shinko customer service, then off to bike bandit, JP's and revzilla. The only reply back has been from revzilla , who told be to ask shinko. :banghead:

It looks like some sheet metal bracket mounted on screws on the lower yoke. It's pretty visible on the left side (right side on the pic)
