Exhaust and ignition questions

Does anyone know if the exhaust from a 81 xs400 special ii will fit a 82 xs400s? And for the ignition coil, one of mine are dead and I been looking around and I found some emgo universal that are 4 ohm but the wiring is not the same and was wondering how to go about wiring that up, thanks for any input.

81 sohc and 82 sohc exhaust system are the same. These year bikes use 3 ohm coils and good used ones are still around for cheap. If your are out of spec I would stick to stock when getting new or used ones.

The '82 may be a DOHC. Can't tell from your profile which you have. DOHC will say "YICS" on the engine cover. Believe exhaust not compatible between the two, but apparently same exhaust between the 82 DOHC Maxim and Seca variants.

Thanks guys, fanticvike its a sohc. Xschris I manage to pick up a coil off eBay and the exhaust.
