Did you ever find anything? Mine only engages the bindex about 1/2 the time so I've resorted to only kicking it over. And parts have been a nightmare to source.
@eze19 Looks like the original post was from 2015, I doubt you will ever get a response.
These don't use a starter bendex like you would find on a lawn mower or auto. They have a starter clutch that is driven off the starter gear by a chain. It might be your starter clutch needs rebuilding, there are a few small springs that wear out or break that could be why it doesn't engage all the time.
