Been a while since I've posted here, many things have changed, outside of the yam being stolen. Ended up getting another bike and used it as a commuter every day. I don't have any IRL biker friends so I just wanted to post here asking for advice.
End of January had a really bad accident, driver didn't see me and I didn't see her, ended up broadsiding her Subaru at around 40mph. I dont remember any of it but it caused some pretty significant damage. Both arms broken, wrists still have plates in em, leg broken, jaw fractured in 3 places, minor fractures in pelvis and spine. Fortunately it was cold out so I was wearing layers that saved my skin, escaped with zero road rash.
Im almost certain that I would like to come back to this hobby but I obviously have my concerns. Im not here to be convinced one way or the other I just want to hear some experiences others have had with getting back in the saddle.

While I have not had any major accidents on the road, I grew up riding dirt bikes. Even after dumping it and being ok physically it can be a mental hurdle.
For more road riding, I would maybe suggest if you do decide you want to get back on a bike again, maybe start from the beginning? Take another Basic Riders Course or maybe an intermediate level one. That way you can ride, review riding skills and what to do, in an enclosed environment. Another suggestion would be to watch some videos on youtube, such as DanDanTheFireman. That way you aren't going straight out onto the road and feeling that anxiety, but building yourself up to it. You might decide you don't want to ride and that is totally fine to.
Hope you can recover physically and mentally. Wishing you best of luck!

How did you go? Are you back up on the road again. I crashed a few times, fell off a couple horses, crashed a Pa28 and smashed up a xy falcon car. So far I seem to be able to just get back up and continue but I have never done the damage that you did. Some cuts, some bruses but not to your level.
