k&n ru-2970 doesnt fit xs250 carbs

Warning to all xs250 owners. The k&n ru-2970 does not fit on the bs32 carbs. The opening is 5mm too big.
Anyone have an idea on how to make it fit. I really like the look and want to use it but not sure how to make it fit.

Use an old inner tube to make an adapter ring??

Find some ABS plumbing pipe that you could make a spacer with?
