Lowering forks

Quick question.

I'm servicing and want to lower my forks. Read this and got it figured out.

When i took off the lower fork assembly I didn't have a spring at the bottom of the dampener rod.

I got where to put the spacer. What if you don't have springs at the bottom of the rod? Should i just put the cut section at the bottom of the rod.

Cheers

Few pictures of the progress.

New bars came in, fork seals are done and back together. Removed the tachometer and center light cluster.

Prepping the frame now for the 2.4 gallon sporster tank that's on order. I decided on a clear coat only and no paint. I want to keep the stainless look.

Here is to hoping the coils don't create to much havoc, as well the bars don't hit the hit the tank in turns!
