My 79 xs400 build

did some work to the frame today got it trimmed up and ready for welding ne hoop and seat mounts in to it also cut and flipped my handle bars, now waiting for 600 dollars in part to show up to start getting into the build :bike:

so i have the tank prepped for paint smooth as glass took several days to get it perfect but it nice and clean will post more pics of it when its primed and painted one step closer to being done and able to ride it :bike:

Nice job on the tank. Did you line it with Kreem or something? And what did you use to fill the badge inserts? I worry that regular bondo would be effected with today's crappy ethanol fuels. I can't wait to see pictures of the finished product.

I used dolphin glaze on it, it's like bondo but a bit different and I also put a tank sealer inside of it so it's sealed up nicely :thumbsup:

:D got a bunch of my part today in the mail new gasets showed up new oil filter and carb boots and my new mirrors now to wait for more shit to show up

got some time today to weld up the rear and make the seat mounts i know it doesnt look pretty but will clean em up tomorrow, but its strong as fuck and hold my weight:bike:

spend the day making a simple seat pan out of sheet metal i had laying around. now to buy some foam and cover material and make a seat

just a quick mock up of the tank and seat got a little more work to do on it tonigh but its going together nicely, the more i do the more i love it :heart:

ot a shit ton of parts in this week i got the new battery which is tiny and easy to hide got the gaskets and rings new brake line and a bunch of misc parts :D

I think that is about what I am running right now. I might try going smaller this year, but I am undecided. I will tell you that my 5 amp hour AGM battery has been rock solid reliable for my kick-start only bike for 3 years and running.
