My new project.. keep chopper look or switch to a bobber!?

My new project I picked up and had in mind for a bobber.. --*definitely going to get rid of tank.
*change forks?
*finish building the hard tail.
There seems to be no prefabricated hardtail kit for the xs400 bikes.. any tips or clips on building the hardtail with out a jig??

Welcome to the forum! That is the stock tank and I think the creator of this forum makes a hardtail kit.

Yeah man thanks! This site has provided alot of much needed information. How much are the stock forks for a 79 usually?

Welcome to the forum. Travis the guy who runs this site make a kit that will work for the xs400 http://www.xs400.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4825 I like the front end on that bike But if you want to go back to stock you can find used front ends on ebay just make sure they are for a disc model bike. Any sohc xs400 or xs360 will work.
